White Fillings Viera, FL

Most patients will experience a dental filling at some point in their lives. They can be used to address both tooth decay and tooth damage, restoring oral health and preventing further deterioration. The dental filling process is relatively quick, painless and often completed during a single visit.

Dental Fillings: What To Expect

Dr. Roppa or Dr. Marshall-Roppa will begin the dental filling process by making you feel relaxed and comfortable. A local anesthetic will be applied to numb the area and affected tooth. Before filling the tooth, decayed or diseased tooth structure will be carefully removed.

The composite material will then be skillfully molded onto the tooth surface to create a comfortable result which is cured with a special light.

Resin fillings can be complete in one visit. Porcelain and gold tooth fillings are made in a dental laboratory and cemented into place in our Viera dentist office. This type of filling typically takes two to three appointments. A temporary filling may be placed on the tooth to offer protection in between visits.

Mercury Free Dental Fillings

Dr. Roppa and Dr. Marshall Roppa emphasize the importance of your overall health, placing it at the forefront of your dentistry. They place metal free, composite resin or high quality porcelain fillings which offer several key benefits to patients in addition to the natural looking result. The composite material is less sensitive to temperature change and can reduce both tooth sensitivity and protect the remaining tooth structure. Composite resins are also highly durable and less prone to developing cracks which allow bacteria to seep beneath, causing further decay and damage.

We can also make over your smile and your dental health by replacing an old, dark or leaky filling with a white resin filling. This will both improve the aesthetics of your smile and strengthen the affected tooth. If you have dark fillings in the “smile zone”, consider having them replaced with a white filling for a smile makeover that will also support lasting dental health.

Inlays & Onlays

Dr. Roppa or Dr. Marshall-Roppa may recommend the use of an inlay or onlay for dental fillings being placed on the larger back teeth. This type of dental restoration, also known as a partial crown, offers both durable and aesthetic results. At Smile Viera, we use quality mercury free, ceramic materials for all dental restorations, including inlays and onlays.

The process may require two visits to our Viera dentist office, first for impressions and tooth preparation and a subsequent visit for the permanent placement of your inlay or onlay. Dr. Roppa also uses CEREC for same day dental restorations whenever possible.
