If you are looking for a way to quickly improve your smile, whiten your teeth. If your teeth are discoloring and need a whitening boost before a wedding, social gathering, or any function, in just over an hour you can walk out of the office with gleaming whiter teeth. Our office utilizes the Zoom! chairside whitening procedure as seen on the television show Extreme Makeover. By adhering to our recommendations before, during, and after your Zoom! treatment sessions, you can reward yourself with whiter teeth and a pain free experience. The amount of tooth whitening you should expect is directly related to what type of discolorations your teeth display. Smoking, tea, wine, or coffee drinkers can expect to lighten the most. Those with internal discolorations from childhood sickness, antibiotics, or injuries will lighten less predictably.

Procedure

The dental assistant will determine the color of your teeth before the Zoom! whitening procedure. Pre whitening photos will then be taken. The dental assistant will then place protective barriers covering your gum tissues, lips, and cheeks to prevent injury from the whitening gel. Once the tissues are isolated, the whitening gel will be applied directly on your teeth. She will then place the Zoom! whitening lamp directly over the teeth. The lamp emits a blue light which activates the whitening gel. We will place your safety glasses and position the television for your comfortable viewing as you whiten. The lamp will be run continously for 15 minutes before it stops. The assistant will then remove the whitening gel from your teeth and reapply new gel. We will repeat this process a total of 4 times (60 minutes) before the treatment is complete. She then will remove all the protective barriers and rinse out your mouth. We will record your post op tooth color and take the after pictures. Your appointment is completed with the dental assistant reviewing the post op instructions and home care.
