Dental Implant CT Guided Surgery

Dental Implants are the best available option for you to replace one or multiple missing teeth. A few consequences of not replacing your missing teeth include poor esthetics, reduced chewing efficiency, pain, progressive bone loss, depression, poor speech, reduced lip and face support, drifting or tilting teeth, among others.

Success rates of dental implants range up to 97% afer 7 years of service. Precision is mandatory when placing dental implants. Before we place your dental implants, we must carefully consider what will attach to the implants (crown, bridge, denture). With this is mind, we can carefully plan the position, angulation, and number of implants you will require.

Remember, precsion is mandatory for success. We now perfom safer more predictable surgeries by removing the "guesswork" during implant placement. How do we do this? Remember precision is mandatory. The answer is by using CT Guided Implant Technolgy.

Once you have decided to proceed with dental implants, we may require a CT Scan (cat scan) of the jaw bone. Not all cases require a CT Scan. A CT Scan is a special x-ray of your jawbones and sinuses. You will sit is a chair as the x-ray travels from one side of your ear to the next (much like the familiar panoramic x-ray). It takes about 10 seconds to complete the scan. We make getting a CT Scan easy for you. We have a specially licensed van arrive in our parking lot that houses the CT Scan Unit. You simply step into the bus, take the scan, and leave. That convienent! The above photos display examples of the unbelievable detail we can achieve from the CT Scan.

The benefits of receiving a CT Scan are numerous. Let's start by discussing the treatment plan process. After you have had the CT Scan, the scan technician will provide the doctor with a CD of your scan. The doctor takes the CD and downloads it intp a CT Guided Software program on our office network. This allows the doctor to review and evaluate the scan. Once the scan is downloaded into the software, the doctor designs your case. The doctor will determine the width, height, and density of your bone. We will determine where your "vital structures" reside (nerves, sinus's). And finally, we will determine the location, number, angulation, and positioning of each implant. Each patient's bone and jaw anatomy is unique. The CT scan allows us to minimize risk by being able to view and study your bone outside of the mouth before surgery. The result prevents possible damage to your nerves or sinuses, as well as allowing the implant more strength and stability.

During your implant consultation, the doctor will review and potentially recommend if a CT Scan is required for you case.

Just one more method to make your dental visit with us more comfortable and enjoyable!
